    Overview

    Tandoor is a local restaurant known for its authentic Indian cuisine and loyal customer base. The restaurant had an outdated website that didn’t reflect its vibrant atmosphere or meet today’s mobile accessibility standards. The goal was to modernize the experience to improve customer engagement and online usability.

    The Challenge

    • The existing site was not responsive, making it difficult to use on mobile devices—where most food service searches originate.

    • The design was outdated, resulting in a mismatch between the in-person dining experience and the online presence.

    • Customers expressed frustration with excessive scrolling, cluttered layout, and poor navigation.

    • Stakeholders needed a quick turnaround without sacrificing visual quality or user experience.

    The Role

    I was brought in as a UI/UX Designer and Researcher to:

    • Refreshing the visual identity while keeping the brand recognizable.

    • Delivering the wireframes and final design assets for implementation.

    • The modernized brand presence helped the restaurant stay competitive in a digital-first food market.

    • The redesign required only one round of stakeholder feedback due to strong initial alignment and design clarity.

    Reflection

    This project reinforced the impact of small design investments on local businesses. With limited time and budget, focusing on mobile usability, clear navigation, and visual refresh made a measurable difference. Listening to both stakeholders and users upfront ensured the design solved real problems while exceeding client expectations.
